Material properties of polyurethane rigid foam

Polyurethane rigid foam (SPF) is a high molecular weight synthetic material with countless tiny closed cell structures, which is a new type of material that integrates waterproofing, insulation and heat preservation. Under the action of modifiers, foaming agents, catalysts, flame retardants, foam stabilizers, anti-aging agents and other additives, they are uniformly mixed through special equipment, and thermal reaction occurs under a certain state, instant atomization, resulting in a rigid foam compound with a closed cell ratio of not less than 95%, which has ideal water impermeability and good water vapor permeability. Widely used on the roofs of large buildings such as high-rise residential buildings, hotels, cold storage facilities, and warehouses. Its main features are as follows.

1.1 Polyurethane rigid foam with reliable waterproof function has a continuous and dense skin and an interconnected wall high-strength honeycomb structure with a closed cell rate of over 95%. It has ideal impermeability and good water vapor permeability resistance, with a water absorption rate of ≤ 1%. By using on-site direct spraying technology, a complete continuous impermeable layer can be formed on the roof of the building, fundamentally eliminating the possibility of water infiltration along the gaps. In addition, it is firmly bonded with the base course, and its bonding strength can exceed the tearing strength of the foam body itself, and will not be separated from the base course, thus avoiding water leakage along the layers.

1.2 High insulation and energy-saving efficiency: Polyurethane rigid foam is a structurally dense and closed non connected pore. The micro pores of the rigid foam are enclosed with foaming agent gas with extremely low thermal conductivity, which has almost no effect on convection. Therefore, the thermal conductivity is lower than 0.022W/(m · k), far lower than traditional insulation materials, and the insulation performance is excellent, with significant energy-saving effects.

1.3 Strong Bonding Performance This material has excellent bonding performance and has strong bonding strength to concrete, metal, brick, wood, glass, fiber and other substrates. The bonding strength should be ≥ 100kPa, and the bonding strength to concrete and brick can reach up to 240kPa. As a roof waterproof and thermal insulation layer, it has extremely strong wind resistance.

1.4 Polyurethane rigid foam with strong chemical corrosion resistance has good chemical stability under the action of general solvents such as benzene and gasoline, as well as dilute concentrations of acid, alkali, salt solutions, etc., and will not undergo mold growth and decay.

1.5 Strength depends on its raw materials, formula, density, structure, and molding process. When other factors remain relatively constant, density determines strength. When the density of SPF rigid foam is greater than 55 kg/m3, its compressive strength can be ≥ 300kPa and tensile strength can be ≥ 500kPa, with good impact resistance.

1.6 High quality environmentally friendly product SPF foam has no harmful substance volatilization during use, does not pollute the surrounding environment, has stable chemical properties, good corrosion resistance, does not decompose or mold.

1.7 Good temperature resistance and fire resistance. SPF foam has a volume shrinkage rate of less than 1% at low temperatures of -50 ℃, and will not become brittle or crack; At 120 ℃, there is no significant change in volume and strength; At a high temperature of 150 ℃, the polymer does not degrade, making it suitable for use at high temperatures. It will not have the phenomenon of melting and dripping like EPS or XPS materials, and the hard foam polyurethane material will form a coking protective layer during the combustion process to suppress the spread of combustion.

After modification treatment, the spray polyurethane rigid foam with high fracture elongation rate of 1.8 has an elongation rate of over 13%, successfully overcoming the phenomenon of waterproof insulation layer fracture caused by uneven foundation settlement and environmental temperature difference changes in buildings.

1.9 Easy to construct, short construction period SPF foam waterproof insulation layer can be sprayed on site, easy to operate, one-time molding, and fast construction; The material solidifies quickly, and can be installed within 20 minutes after spraying, simplifying the overall construction process and shortening the construction period.
